My grandfather's Seiko had not run for probably twelve years. I brought it in not expecting much, honestly. The written note after examination was clear — they explained what had deteriorated and what could realistically be restored. Three weeks later the movement is running within a few seconds a day and looks far better than when I handed it over.

I had a routine maintenance done on my daily mechanical watch. Quick, clear communication — they told me what they found (minor wear on the crown gasket, nothing dramatic) and did not push anything unnecessary. Came back running better than when I left it. The timing sheet they returned was a nice touch.

Full overhaul on an ETA movement. The wait was about two and a half weeks, which they had said upfront. One replacement part was slightly harder to source than expected and they messaged to let me know — appreciated, even if it added a few days. The result was very good. Running significantly more accurately than it had been.

I posted a watch from Chiang Rai after reading about this workshop. They confirmed safe receipt, sent a condition note a couple of days later, and kept me updated throughout. The full overhaul service was thorough. I received the timing machine printout along with a short explanation of the results. Exactly what I was hoping for.

Brought in an old Omega from the late 1960s that belonged to my father. The vintage revival work was careful and took about six weeks. They sourced the right parts — I had read enough to know what to look for — and the documentation they returned with the watch is remarkable. A proper historical record. Money well spent.

Routine maintenance on a quartz piece. They were straightforward — battery, seals checked, exterior cleaned. Done in three days as they said. What I liked was the brief written note explaining what condition everything was in. Not all workshops do that for a simpler service. Will come back when the mechanical one is due.

Some Detailed Accounts

A 1962 Swiss Pocket Watch Brought Back to Service

Vintage Revival · 8 weeks

Challenge

A pocket watch passed down through a Thai family had not run since the early 1980s. The movement was gummed with decades of dried lubricant. The dial had significant foxing and several hour markers had faded. Parts for the calibre were no longer produced.

Approach

Full movement disassembly with ultrasonic cleaning. Dial stabilised and surface carefully treated — no repainting that would compromise originality. Correct replacement jewels sourced through specialist European suppliers. Hands polished and retouched carefully.

Result

Movement running within 20 seconds per day — within acceptable range for the calibre age. Complete documentation prepared. Client noted that the work exceeded expectation given the condition on arrival. The watch now runs daily and is worn occasionally.

"I was not sure it could be saved. They were honest throughout about what was possible and what was not. The result speaks for itself." — Client, Chiang Mai

Full Overhaul on a Modern Automatic After Years Without Service

Full Movement Overhaul · 16 days

Challenge

An automatic watch worn daily for eight years without servicing was running around six minutes slow per day. The owner knew it was overdue for an overhaul but had concerns about entrusting it to an unfamiliar workshop.

Approach

Full disassembly, cleaning, and inspection. The mainspring was fatigued and the pallet jewels showed wear. Both were replaced with correct-grade components. Lubricated to current specification. Case opened and gaskets replaced. Water-resistance tested to rated depth.

Result

Timing machine showed +4 seconds per day in crown-up position — a significant improvement. Five-position report returned with the watch. Owner commented that the rotor winding felt noticeably smoother than it had for several years.

"The difference in how it winds and runs is noticeable from the first day. I should have brought it in sooner." — Client, Bangkok
