Our Methodology

How Every Service Is Handled

Whatever the service, the process at Lanna Horology follows the same structured approach. A watch arrives, is examined carefully, and a written condition note is prepared before any work is proposed. The owner reviews and agrees, and only then does the work begin.

During the work, movement components are handled with appropriate tools, cleaned properly, and reassembled with calibre-specific lubricants applied at the correct points. Nothing is left to assumption.

When the work is complete, timing performance is verified and documented. The watch is returned with a full written account — what was found, what was done, what was replaced, and the timing results.

01

Intake and Examination

The watch is examined under magnification. External condition, case integrity, movement state, and any obvious concerns are noted.

02

Condition Note and Agreement

A written condition note is prepared: what was found, what is proposed, estimated cost, and timeline. Work begins only after the owner agrees.

03

Service and Verification

The agreed service is carried out. Timing is verified on a machine across multiple positions. Water-resistance tested where applicable.

04

Documentation and Return

A full written account of the work is returned with the watch. Timing results, parts replaced, and any recommendations are included.

Shared Across All Services

Technical Standards and Protocols

Secure Component Handling

Individual movement trays for each job. Parts are never mixed between watches. Components not in use are stored in a clean, controlled environment.

Calibre-Specific Lubrication

Lubricants selected and applied according to calibre type and manufacturer guidance. The correct oil in the correct quantity at the correct point.

Timing Verification

Following movement work, rate accuracy is checked across five positions. Results are recorded and accompany the watch on return.

Water-Resistance Testing

Where the case design supports it, water-resistance is tested after reassembly. Gasket replacement is standard whenever a case is opened.

Complete Documentation

A written account of work done, parts replaced, and results measured is prepared for every job and returned with the watch as a permanent record.
